Department of Health Education and Health Promotion

Activities of department of health education and health promotion has been started from the establishment of the school of health since 1984. Currently, MSc and Ph.D college students of health education and health promotion are studying in the department. This department works in line with solving community health problems (such as child labor, primary prevention of heart disease and cancer and so on). Needs assessment, development of contents of educational materials and media (such as health applications), planning and evaluation of interventions are the main educational activities axes of the department. Research priorities of the department are in the fields such as healthy life style, health promotion strategies (e.g. advocacy, lobbying, and participation), behavior changes theories, social determinants of health, educational technology and media, health communication and message development, health literacy and community education.
