Introduction (History)
Activities of Health Education and Health Promotion started from the establishment of the school of health. At present, the department accepted college students in the two courses of Family Health and Disease Control since 1984. Public Health course was also established in the department in 1988. MSc and PhD degree in Health Education course were established in 1999 and 2009, respectively. Currently, MSc and PhD college students of Health Education and Health Promotion are studying in the department.

Educational goals
- Training college students to meet community needs in the health sector
- Publishing scientific books according to the curricula of provided courses
Research goals
- Designing and implementing basic researches for generating knowledge in the field of health education, health promotion and health services management
- Designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative researches in the field of the priorities of health system and solving the problems of community
Educational activities
- Training college students in MSc Program of Health Education
- Training college students in PhD Program of Health Education
- Training students in MPH Program
- Developing education plan at the beginning of each term
- Presenting lessons of the other departments and schools
- Contributing in the planning and implementing educational workshops and courses at school, university and ministerial levels.
Research activities
- Advising the college students of MSc, PhD and MPH programs on their theses
- Publishing and translating the books
- Contributing in national and international congresses and seminars
- Participating in the organizational research projects
- Publishing Persian and English articles in the national and international journals
- Developing research projects in the field of health education and health promotion
